Provo Falls - August, 2020

How is it possible that I have lived my entire life in this area and just barely discovered Provo Falls.  We have seen and experienced a lot of really cool things this summer, but Provo Falls is at the top of the list.  We headed out early Friday afternoon and loved the drive through canyons and pines.  When we first arrived, we walked down to the view area and were definitely wowed by the views.  We didn't know much about the area and decided to start hiking up river to see what else there was to discover.  It turned out that the falls and stone slabs continued upriver for miles.  We hiked in the river and only climbed out in a few spots where the water got too deep.  I don't understand the geology or how this was all created, but it is definitely one of God's wonders.  The afternoon felt completely magical.  The kids had so much fun exploring, climbing rocks, and enjoying nature, and I absolutely loved watching it all.

This spot by the river was one of our very favorite spots.  There were plenty of flat rocks and we all found great places to hang out.  As we sat there listening to the water, basking in the sun, Luke said that he wished he could just sit there all afternoon and read his book.  I can't imagine anything better.
