Jump and Jive - Dance Recital 2020

After discovering the magic of Jive dance concerts last year, Ruby was super excited to perform with her new class.  The concert was supposed to be in May, but thanks to Covid, they had to cancel which was devastating to everyone.  They weren't able reschedule and use the indoor auditorium where they usually have the concert, but the studio owner wasn't willing to give up on her vision for the 2020 concert.  After a lot of work and planning, they were able to hold the concert at the beginning of August at an outdoor venue.  To be honest, I was a little unsure about holding the concert outdoors, but they did everything possible to still make it an incredible experience.  The only real negative was the weather, and I'm not sure how they could have controlled the heat.  Based on the disasters of the year 2020, we should have expected the concert to happen on the hottest weekend of the year. But watching the girls perform, you would have never known the conditions were anything but perfect - the dancing was so fun and it was awesome to spend such an awesome night celebrating with so many dancers.

Dress rehearsals, checking out the scene.

To watch her perform, you would never know that this girl had pre-concert jitters.  She knew her place, remembered the moves, and looked like she was having so much time performing.  Ruby always seems to light up a room, and during these concerts, she definitely lit up the stage.

There were a total of four concerts over two days.  We decided to buy a few seats to each concert so that Ruby would have fans at each of the shows.  She is a lucky girl to be supported by so many people.
