Birthday Boys

So, these two boys, Dad and Tad almost share a birthday
My dad's was the 16th and Tad's the 17th
Too bad we never get to celebrate them together.

Of course the grandkids were oh so happy to help
Blow out the candles
This was of course after helping to open the presents
At this point the cake still looks pretty good
Somehow it ended up with a large fingerprint
Miles, you're busted!
Tad got to celebrate like a rock star this year,
Spring Break in Mexico sounds like a
Perfect birthday present to me.
I was lucky and got to be in the room when Tad was born.
What an amazing experience to be one of the first to
Welcome him to the world.
Funny, I was just thinking about the fact that while poor Julie
Was in labor, we went and got Wendys
I have an entirely new perspective now.

Hope you both had great birthdays!

Be Born

So Craig sent me the link to this song. I've never heard of the band but it's pretty great. You can listen to it here:

http://youtu.be/9geGPU-AwqI

BE BORN
Tally Hall

I suppose you're quite content in your swimming pool
All you pink-skinned babes are the same
And you can't stay forever young
So get out here and see the sun
You're only six inches away from becoming one
I was in your shoes before (or lack thereof)
And things worked out for me
There's a dozen people here
And they're waiting for you
It's your party, you can cry if you want to
CHORUS
What if I told you I could show you something
What if I told you I could make you live
Follow my instruction, swim in the direction
Of my voice, hear my voice
You think that you've seen it all in your little ball
But man you're wrong and she's been waiting
Long and hard to kiss your head and hold your hands
And hold you while you fall asleep
CHORUS

This might become the theme song in the delivery room. Tim better learn to play the guitar STAT.

34 Weeks

Don't mind the tired eyes, I had only been awake for a few minutes. The bigger I get, the more funny looks I get at the gym. One guy was quite concerned and wanted to make sure that my husband and doctor knew I was there (and yes, they do).

Joe Dirt

Do you remember the movie Joe Dirt?

Kind of an old cult classic with some seriously funny lines.

I'm pretty sure my nephew is auditioning for the remake.

How can you not love a kid with the guts

To have that haircut.

Since I'm Having One...

15 Things Boys Should Know Before They Turn 18
Taken from http://http://www.ooph.com/topics/health-image-behavior/653/15-things-boys-should-know-before-they-turn-18

There are some key things your sons should know before they leave home. Here are my top 15.
1. The kitchen? Not just for girls. Learn to use a stove.
2. If a girl tries to change you she doesn’t really love you no matter how much you want her to.
3. Shower daily, keep your nails trim and use deodorant.
4. A dutch oven is never funny. EVER.
5. It is NEVER acceptable to break up with a girl over the phone.
6. Understand how to use basic tools.
7. When you ask a girl, “Is something wrong?” and she says, “No.” She’s lying.
8. The job of a stay-at-home mom is equally as hard as yours.
9. Table manners. Use them.
10. You will never know a stronger pull than that of your friends trying to get you to participate in their wrong doing. Resisting makes you a man. Succumbing makes you a coward.
11. NEVER use your fists to solve ANY dispute. One wrong punch could take a life and it could be yours.
12. Condoms will save your life.
13. Never use the word gay in a derogatory manner. It’s ignorant.
14. Sexting is a federal offense.
15. Real girls do not look like Victoria’s Secret models.
What would you add?
