Beach Bums - February 2020

Ever since we met, the beach has been our happy place, and nothing makes me happier than watching Luke and Ruby fall in love with the ocean.  We weren't sure of what kind of weather we would get during a February trip so we only planned for a half day at the beach.  We got lucky and the weather was amazing, so it was the most perfect half day by the ocean.

The kids dug in the sand, buried each other, built castles and forts, and hunted for seashells.

Luke and Ruby spent as much time as possible in the water.  The water was so cold that I didn't even want my feet to get wet, but the kids didn't seem to notice.  They jumped waves, and played in the water until we finally made them come back to the sand to get warm.  I got nervous a few times because they were almost too brave and just kept heading out further and further.  But mostly I just loved watching my amazing water babies.

After a quick beach shower, we rushed to the airport for our flight home.  As we were getting on the plane, the pilot was so nice and invited Luke and Ruby into the cockpit.  He pointed out all of the It buttons, levers and controls, and then gave them his hat to make sure they got a good picture.  After an action packed trip, we arrived home tired, but oh so happy.

Disneyland - California Adventures - February 2020

We just really love California Adventures - and had the best time there on our trip in February.  This time we didn't do a park hopper pass so we tried to take advantage of all of our favorites during our  one full day in California Adventures.

We arrived early, ready for a day of fun.

Last year Luke and I rode Guardians of the Galaxy and loved it.  After hearing Luke talk about how fun it was, Ruby decided this year that she wanted to ride it, so we all started out by being brave and heading straight to the ride.  Even Grandpa decided to join us.  Turns out, it was the perfect way to start the day, we all laughed and screamed and made the best memories.

We spent a long time in Hollywood Land and loved all of the sights.

We had to wait a long time for Monsters Inc.
So we took advantage and took a few extra photos.

Frozen Live was as good as it has ever been,
Completely worth the price of admission.

After lunch, we made our way to the magic of Cars Land

And of course, Radiator Springs was the best part of Cars Land.  The ride is so much fun, and one of the few that we can all ride together.  And even better, our yellow car won in the race!

The ice cream cones and celebrity visits at the Cozy Cone were amazing.

After having such a great time, it was a little bit sad to say goodbye to Cars Land, knowing that we wouldn't be returning on this trip. Luckily, we found a photographer as we were leaving to get a few more group shots.  We didn't take nearly as many pictures on this trip, but I love the one we do have because they are such great reminders of what a great time we had together.

Pixar Pier was one of our last stops.

Luke and Ruby became complete daredevils on this trip and decided that they loved the Incredicoaster.  Somehow they talked Tim and I into going on it twice. It is a super fun ride, but by the time we got off of the second ride, he and I were both so sick.  It may be a long time before we make it back to Disneyland and California Adventures, but we won't be making that mistake again.
