Wolf Creek - July, 2020

This summer has been so weird (have I mentioned that yet), and we struggled to figure out how to do some type of family vacation.  We thought about going to Bear Lake and were actually looking for a condo there when we found a great place to say at Wolf Creek, near Eden.  It turned out to be an awesome vacation and we made so many great memories together.

The kids loved having their own space.

Grandma and Grandpa Whitesides came to visit.

We spent the mornings exploring...there were fields, and woods, a little pond, and a golf course.  We had so much fun watching nature and just slowing down a little.

The kids made a new friend.

They spent hours racing leaf boats.

Picking and posing with wildflowers.

Luke loved having space to shoot his bow and arrow.

And then Brycen showed up and life really got good!

The pool was closed (thank you Covid), but with Pineview Reservoir close by, we had plenty of fun in the sun and water.  The beach at Cemetery Point was perfect!

We had only planned to spend one day at the reservoir, but after having such a great time, we went back the next day with Brycen for even more fun.

I haven't really loved running this summer, but man I had a great time running in Eden.  The views were just so incredible and I loved running with no real plan or schedule.

Across the street from our condo I saw a family of turkeys.  When I went over to get a closer look, I found this great little community area.  The kids had a blast exploring and making up stories about the pioneers that they though must have lived there.

On our way home, we stopped at Snow Basin to do a little hiking.  We started out on a mountain bike trail and ended up playing in the river which felt great in the middle of the July heat.

After our hike, we stopped near the lift for a picnic lunch.

After watching the gondola go up and down, we decided that we wanted to go for a ride to the top of the mountain.  Going up was just so beautiful and peaceful.  Luke said that he wanted to come back with his book and just ride the lift all day while he read.  Sounds like a dream.

We didn't have a lot of time to explore once we got to the top, but did have the chance to hike around a little bit.  The views were even better from the top.  Gosh it was such a great time, we are already trying to figure out when we can go back to hike or bike.

Do you want to build a snowman...

Of course, no trip would be complete without a new friend...
