Let Freedom Ring - 2020

Celebrating the Fourth of July is Utah is really the best!  There are so many parades, festivals, parties, and of course, the Stadium of Fire.  When the kids found out that none of those activities would be happening this year, they were super disappointed - Luke, especially, just could not understand why we couldn't go to the Stadium of Fire.  It's been a hard summer with so many plans changed and events canceled, but we just keep trying to make new traditions and plan new activities.  Our day might have looked a little different than it has in the past, but we still had an awesome time.

I had previously stocked up on Fourth of July treats, and the kids were totally excited to wake up and find a few little surprises to make the day more fun.

The Fourth of July fashion show is one of my favorite parts of the day.

Someday she might regret these poses, but for now, she loves the silliness.

Luke was so excited when he realized that he the perfect shoes to wear...
One red and one blue.

After the fashion show, we headed to Santaquin where we had lunch, then got to work on our do it yourself parade.  Some of the kids needed a little bit of encouragement, but eventually we got everyone to decorate their favorite form of transporation.

We paraded to the cemetery where the crowds were quiet but supportive.

We ended the night watching fireworks on our back deck.  It seemed like the entire neighborhood had spent a fortune on fireworks and we were surrounded by lights and sounds.  It was a pretty great ending to a pretty great day.
