ABC's and 123's, School Days are Here 2019

We had such a fantastic summer, and crossed plenty of items off of our bucket list, but when the first day of school rolled around, I don't think any of us felt ready.  Luke and Ruby really love school, and were excited to see their friends every day.  But none of us were ready for early mornings, set schedules, and trying to be a little more responsible with our time.  We drug our feet a little with the final preparations, but when the morning of the first day rolled around, Luke was ready to go.  He is in the same class as his best buddy Sonny which made him especially excited to get started.  His teacher is young and fun, and nearly every day he comes home saying it was the "best day ever".

Because of Kindergarten testing, Ruby had an extra week of summer break.  I think she secretly loved getting to be the star on her big day and we loved  giving her the extra attention.  Ruby has been so ready for school and I can't wait to experience the fun of another kindergartner.  Every day so far she has reported that school was "so good" and "so fun".  I expect great things from this little one.

Before the big day, there were plenty of activities to get the kids ready.  Luke was a little anxious about having a new teacher - Back to School Night was great so he could meet her and get a little more comfortable.  Ruby has been looking forward to being in Mrs. Arney's class for two years and was thrilled to finally see her name up on the kindergarten wall.  After meeting their teachers and touring the school, Luke and Ruby requested a celebration meal at Pizza Pie Cafe.  Perfect meal to start out the new school year.

Fresh new haircuts

We spent a lot of summer nights at the pool...and decided we should have one last swim night before starting school.  There were plenty of stunts and tricks, and we all went home tired and oh so happy.

It was fun to run into my childhood neighbor, Debbie
