March Miscellaneous, 2022

Ruby and her unicorn seemed like the perfect picture to show how excited we were for the month of March.  Plus, she's just so darn cute, I love to see her cute face on the cover page.

Ruby has a lot of good friends, but this little family is one of the best.  They love and treat her like she is one of their own - in fact, I think sometimes she thinks she is the big sister.

Everyone remembered their green and avoided getting pinched.

Luke finished up his basketball season and we were all so sad to see it end.  He has had the best coaches and team the past two years.  He has learned so much and really improved as a player.  Luke tells me all of the time how great his coaches are and how much they teach during practice.  They have learned to play as a team, and to also have a lot of fun together.  Hopefully, we will be able to keep the team together for the next several years

End of the year celebration at Pizza Pie Cafe.

Brycen has been involved in an opera production at Weber State and invited us up to see the performance.  All of the pieces were by American composers - they had several arias and then three one act operas.  The whole thing was so good - I think we were all surprised by how much we liked it.  Brycen worked on the set and the stage and it was fun to be able to watch him in action.

Ruby took advantage of a spring storm to build a snowman.

Luke has been working hard for several months to prepare to be judged.  He is so conscientious and really tried to not only memorize the pieces, but to also incorporate the right dynamics and feeling.  He was so nervous on the drive there, but once he started playing, no one would have ever known.  He played fantastically and earned a "Superior" for both.  When he was done, we had to call Grandma to report and then met her for a drink and a cookie to celebrate.

Grandpa turned 74!
We are sure lucky to have him.

BYU played in the NIT tournament and we were able to go to two of the games together.  They won one, and lost the next, but we still had a great time cheering on the team.

I was able to go with Ruby and all of the other 1st graders on a field trip to the Museum of Ancient History aka the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point.  I love watching Ruby explore the world, and especially love to see her play and be silly with all of her friends.

Always pictures of the dog!

Tim has really enjoyed yoga and attended a ton of classes during the month of March.

Everyone loves it when we get a little extra Brycen time.

Just a couple of crazy kids!

Luke and his buddy spent a Saturday afternoon building a fort.  They found wood scraps, used hammer and nails, and lots of spray paint.  Of course, this was the perfect backdrop to then have a nerf war.

We have definitely already established Luke's love of BYU football, so when he heard there would be an alumni game, of course he was all in.  It ended up being a pretty big event and the game itself was really entertaining.  But the highlight of the night for Luke was getting to meet some of his idols and then get their autographs.

Isaiah Kafusi is a former student of Luke's teacher, Mrs. Raymond.  Luke has heard a lot about him, and what a great student he is, and was so excited to meet him.  They chatted about Mrs. Raymond and what a great teacher she is.  I sent this picture to her the next day and she told me how much the two of them remind her of each other - "they are both good to the core, kind, and work hard to give their best".

Mid-way through the game we spotted Taysom Hill standing just few feet in front of us.  Out of all the BYU football players, Taysom is his very favorite - remember his Halloween costume last year.  Luke was really nervous to ask for an autograph, and had to kind of be a little pushy to get his turn, but after getting the football signed, he was completely beaming and could hardly talk because he was so excited.

Luke also got the autographs of several other BYU alumni that currently play in the NFL
Kai Nacua, Matt Bushman, Taysom Hill and Harvey Langi

Even more than the players, Luke really loves Coach Kalani Sitake.
Once he got his autograph, his night was complete.

The football is currently his most prized possession.

The girls were mostly there for the snacks and the cheerleaders.

Cutest proof that Luke's love for BYU sports (and Cosmo) started young.
