March Miscellaneous, 2021

It felt a little strange to have March roll around - we spent a lot of time talking about all that had changed in the past year, but also being grateful for all the things that are returning to normal.  We were able to have a few fun adventures, and as always, plenty of time together as a family.

We were lucky enough to have gone to Disneyland two weeks before the world shut down.  Even so, the kids have mentioned several times lately how much they want to go back to the park.  I think it will be quite awhile before we are able to get there again, but in the mean time, Disney on Ice was the perfect dose of Disney magic.  Luke has decided that he is too old to dress up, but Ruby was definitely excited to get fancied up in a new princess dress.  Our little Cinderella was more than happy to give us her best smile for some pre-party pictures.

We started off with dinner at the Gateway...

And then headed to the Vivint for the main event.  Watching the kids watch the show is completely worth the price of admission.  They were so amazed at the skating, and loved singing along to all of their favorite songs.  It really was a magical night.

Tim and Hamilton had a great morning a the park with Erika.

Erika and Brycen spent their Spring Break in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
They had so much fun, and came home with plenty of great stories.

First time back in a theater, I'm not sure what we loved more, the movie, or the giant Coke and popcorn.

Luke started taking piano lessons with my mom last summer.  He has mostly done Piano Marvel, an online program, and then some Zoom and online help.  It is amazing how much he has progressed in just a few months.  When Grandma first told him that she wanted him to prepare to be judged, he wasn't so sure that he wanted to do it, but after talking about it, he decided that he was willing to try.  Over the past few months he worked so hard to learn and memorize two songs.  He and grandma worked on the notes, the pedal and the dynamics until it was perfect.  He was so nervous leading up to the judging, but when the big moment arrived, he played awesome.  He and grandma were so proud of his "superior".

The amount of pictures we take of this dog is getting a little ridiculous

When the sun comes out, we take advantage and head outside to enjoy the weather.

Lucky, the Leprechaun returned this year for some tricks and treats.  The kids loved reading his notes, and loved talking about where Lucky lives, and how to see him again.

Happy Happy Birthday Grandpa

About 8 1/2 years ago, we met Kaitlyn when she answered an ad for a babysitter.  Over the years, she watched Luke and Ruby and became part of our family.  Now she has her own baby and we couldn't be happier about it.

Luke is really becoming a great little artist.

Basically this is how she sleeps almost every night.

Just a few more, I promise...he's just such a good, good boy!
