Fly Boys at Hill Air Force Base

After years of driving past the Hill Air Force Base museum, we finally decided to make the effort to go and see the planes.   As we pulled up to the museum, we were amazed to see 10-15 planes outside.  We started there and checked out a few of the planes, but quickly moved inside because of the cold.

Once inside, we were completely amazed at all of the planes and exhibits - we really had no idea.  There were two large hangars - in the first they had older planes, bombers, etc.  Those were probably my favorite because of fascinating history.  The jets were in the second hangar.  They were awesome, and so over the top that it was a little tough to even understand their speed and power.  The kids were super interested in the planes and all of the details, they had a million questions and I could only answer a few of them.  Luke didn't like any of the exhibits that showed photos or details from past wars, he thought it was too sad.  In fact, as we were leaving he made one of my favorite comments ever..."mom, I really don't like war, but it has a lot of cool stuff".  We had a great time, and really want to go back for the air shows, or to see the new planes they just received.  It was definitely the type of place were you could go multiple times and still be impressed every visit.

And of course, Ruby found a puppy
