April Miscellaneous 2018

April, as it always is, was a pretty great month.  We had plenty of activities, birthdays, sunshine and lots of time together as a family.  The month was super busy and I can't believe it passed so quickly.

Always plenty of fun with these cute friends and neighbors

Luke is getting really good and creating and building.

Lego are his specialty.

This girl plays hard and runs full steam from the minute she awakes....and then...she crashes.  We just laugh every night when we go in to check on her and find her in the craziest positions.

Did I say plenty of sunshine...
Mother Nature still had a few tricks left for us.

This is what it looked like the next day.

Mrs. Arney gave Luke a writing journal and he was desperate to have an "office" where he could do his work.  Once he gets his mind set on something it is tough to tell him no, so before I knew it, I had rummaged to find some furniture and helped him create and office.  Seeing his excitement and pure joy over this little space completely makes up for the additional clutter in our living room.

Gavin had a sleepover and the kids all had so much fun together.  Luke completely idolizes Gavin and loved having him here overnight.  They were especially excited to twin for church.

Gavin gave this jacket to Luke which made is exponentially more valuable.

Since the time we were dating, Tim and I have celebrated my birthday with dinner at Baja Cantina in Park City.  We were in Park City the week before my birthday but the restaurant was closed which was pretty sad.  But we more than made up for it by going to dinner at Market Street Grill and following that up with Hamilton!  Tim has barely listened to the music, but I have been dying to see the play since I first heard the soundtrack several years ago.  The show did not disappoint - I laughed, and cried, and got completely caught up in the moment - it was everything I had hoped it would be.

Sitting next to a friend made it even better.

Luke was so proud of his art project for "That Pesky Rat"

Poor girl, she fell off a stool/ottoman at Park City and got the worst rug burn on her face.  It was so sore and painful but luckily it seems to be healing well and hopefully she will not scar.

Oh and my birthday....generally it is not my favorite day and I usually try to keep any celebrations to a minimum.  However, with little ones, they are so excited about a birthday that it is hard not to get caught up into their enthusiasm.  Tim and the kids worked hard to make sure my day was great.

Tim loves any chance he gets to spend some time with Brycen.

Luke made it through all of the books he was supposed to read for Kindergarten and went on to the next level.  His reading has improved so much and I am constantly amazed and how well he has done in such a short time period.  The new books have much harder words and he is still doing great.

Calvin came to the kids' soccer games and then had a late over while Cory was gone.  The kids think he is hysterical and laughed for most of the time he was with us.

Katelyn, along with Luke and Ruby, has been counting down the days until she gets married.  She has been so cute to include the kids in some of the pre-wedding fun and even brought them countdown presents which included white boards to keep track of the days.  Ruby loved going to the bridal shower and especially loved all of the attention she received.  She was the only kid there and everyone made a big deal over her with was perfect.

The season of Lagoon, 2018 has officially begun.
