Christmas

After a month full of festivities, I was a little worried that Christmas morning might feel like a little bit of a letdown.  However, with a four and five year old, I should have known that it would be completely magical.  Both kids slept until about 8:30 and then woke up so excited about the presents and the fact that Santa had found our house.  We spent the morning slowly opening presents - taking the time to stop and play with favorite toys along the way.  Luke and Ruby were the most fun and I loved seeing their eyes light over their favorite gifts.  For Tim and I, it was a really incredible morning and we were so lucky to celebrate Christmas with our little ones.
Waking to snow made the Christmas morning magic complete

Piggy Paints were top on her list and have been her very favorite

He had been hoping for these web slingers for about six months

This baby Husky was on her list and she had been so excited to get her new puppy.

This robot doggie was definitely his favorite gift

Wishing Boxes!
Poor Santa had to work extra hard to fulfill this item on the wishlist.

It took us a few hours to open presents and then we made "breakfast" at about noon.  We opened a lot of toys and just hung out and played together for most of the day.  By about 5:00 p.m. we finally got ourselves dressed and went to Grandpa and Grandma Broadbents for more celebrations.  The kids were all wild, and tired, and a little over stimulated - despite that, we all had a great time but were definitely ready for bed by the time we headed home.

We definitely missed having the big kids with us on Christmas Day so we were excited when we all were finally able to get together on Friday and Saturday.  Friday night we all went to JCW's for burgers and Tim kept teasing the kids that the fast food was their official Christmas dinner.  Actually, none of them seemed too bothered by the idea...they were good burgers.  Saturday morning Brycen went to a young men's activity and once he got back we had our official Christmas with presents and food.  Luke and Ruby were so excited to see new presents under the tree and loved having Taylor, Erika and Brycen there to open presents together.  We really had a great afternoon and loved being able to celebrate with everyone together.

New socks...

And shoes...

Ruby loves her card from Brycen

And Luke was the most excited to be given a dollar.

Brycen was the most excited about his air purifier.
