Soccer is Back - Fall, 2020

Spring soccer season was canceled (thank you Covid), and after a summer of restrictions, we wondered if fall season would actually happen.  Luckily, the city worked to put in place some safety protocols, and got the green light to play.  It was so nice to be back at the fields, watching my kids learn and play.

Luke and Ruby played in the same league this year and almost every one of their games overlapped.  Since Tim was coaching Luke, I tried to spend most of the game watching Ruby - but whenever she was out, I would try to run over to Luke's game to catch a little of the action.  Luckily, I was there to see his first goal of the season.  His team worked really hard this year and it was fun to see them figure out how to play positions and work together.  I'm not sure that soccer is his passion, but for now, he is having fun and becoming a better player with every season.

Ruby's team this year was so much fun - the girls were great and really supported each other as they learned the rules and how to play specific positions or areas of the field.  This is the first year of having a goalie, and Ruby definitely loved the position.  She was really fearless and had no problem reaching down or going after a ball even when there was a crowd of kicking girls.  When we could get her to give up the goalie's jersey, she was equally strong down the field.  She had so much fun at every game and we loved watching her become a better player while having such a good time.

The last game of the season always makes me a little sad.
Thanks for such a great year guys!
