In the midst of a pandemic, while everything felt chaotic, we escaped to the Great Saltair to have birthday pictures taken of Luke and Ruby. In the past I have tried to have pictures taken of the two every six months or so and have used one of their birthdays as the occasion. This year with Luke turning 8, I knew I wanted to have some special photos to document this important birthday. We had scheduled with the photographer about a month earlier when life seemed pretty normal. As we got closer to the date and most stores had closed, it made it a little bit tricky to find the right clothes. Thank goodness for UPS and online shopping. After driving out to the Great Salt Lake, we met up with Kayla, the photographer. It was the first time we had met, but we all clicked immediately. It was so fun to watch her work with the kids - luckily they are always really cooperative for photos. I was thrilled with the images she sent - without even knowing them, she caught so much of their personalities. I think this is one photo shoot that we will remember for a very long time.
