Bear Lake - July, 2022

Bear Lake - two years in a row and the condo already booked for next year means that "lake life" is officially a tradition.  Spending time with each other, near the water, is definitely where our very best memories are made.  Bear Lake 2022 looked a lot like the year before, and next year will probably be more of the same.  After an easy morning, we pack up and head to the lake where we stay until the beach is basically empty.  Raspberry shakes on our way home are the appetizers, and we finally get dinner and showers right before falling into bed.  This year we bought two bigger kayaks, and took our remote control speed boats and both were a big hit on the water.  Luke and Ruby are so content to play in the water and on the sand, and Tim and I are always at our best at the beach. So, our pictures all look pretty similar (other than a change of swimsuits), but I still love seeing all of the different memories.

Ruby got several new swimsuits this year and was oh so willing to model her favorites.

The bigger kayaks were so much fun.

Sandcastles, and sea forts, and digging for treasures.

We did leave the beach for a day and drove about an hour north to Minnetonka Cave in Idaho.  We spent some time hiking and exploring before our time slot - the whole area was just so pretty.

We thought the cave would be cool, but had no idea just how impressive it would be.  Once inside, it is huge, and so open, with the most amazing features.  We had a great guide and loved that the tour was out and back so that we got to see everything twice.  This world is just so amazing.

Of course, the kids love to wander up and down Main Street.

After one day away, we were ready to get back to the water.

We rented a SeaDoo for the afternoon and that was probably the highlight of the trip.  It was big and powerful, and such a hoot to drive out in the open water.  Luke was immediately hooked and already trying to figure out how much money he will need to make to be able to have SeaDoos of his own.

We all ended up with bracelets to remind us of our awesome trip.
