Fall Break - Vernal - Part II

We really fell in love with Vernal.  The dinosaur bones and exhibits were fantastic, but there were so many hikes and beautiful areas to explore.  This hike to the Corona Arch was probably one of our favorite hikes ever.  The trail was mostly sand and slick rock, and it often felt like you had been transported to a completely different part of the world.

The arch was stunning, and the fact that you could climb inside made it even better!

I was sure proud of these brave kids.

There was sand everywhere and the kids spent hours playing and building.  Ruby constructed and entire world complete with volcanoes, rivers, and worries of extinction.

Sunday morning, before leaving for home, we took one last hike at the McConkie Ranch to see more sets of petroglyphs.  The hike was so fun and I continue to be amazed at all that Luke and Ruby can do.  Once again, we spent a lot of our time talking about the pictures and trying to imagine why they were drawn.  Once again, we didn't reach any great conclusions, but we definitely had fun talking about it all.

Gosh, we really just had the best trip.
The kids loved the hotel, and brought plenty of friends to make it feel like home.

We had to schedule time in the swimming pool (thank you Covid)
But the kids loved spending time there each night.

The highlight of the trip for Luke was watching BYU Football.
