Half a Century and Looking Fine

Tim turned 50, and we couldn't be more grateful for the day he was born.  Everyone who knows Tim thinks he is the greatest - especially me and all of the kids.  He is patient, funny, so loving, and always does what he says he will do.  Tim entertains Luke and Ruby endlessly with his famous "daddy stories".  I keep thinking that I really should start writing down all of his memories (even if I think they are all somewhat embellished)  Honestly, it seems a little crazy to think that he has been around for five decades because he seems like such a young, hip dad.  Tim is the favorite neighborhood coach, and always works hard to support me and the kids in everything we do.

We wanted to plan something special to celebrate his big milestone.  At one time we had talked about going to Mexico, or another big trip, but thanks to Covid, our birthday options were much more limited.  But after a little bit of searching, we came up with the perfect birthday plan....We started the day at the Sundance Stables where we went for a horseback ride through the beautiful back mountain trails.  At the last minute, Taylor wasn't able to come to that part, but we were grateful that Tim's mom could fill in and join us for the party.  I know that she was just as excited as we were to celebrate Tim's 50 years.  Once we were all saddled and fitted, we headed out on the trail.  The horses were big and beautiful, the scenery was stunning, and we had the most relaxing, wonderful ride.

After the ride, we drove down to the main part of Sundance where we found a shady spot and had a picnic.  There must have been some special birthday magic, because it all tasted delicious.

Just had to document the weird times we live in.

After horses and lunch, we set out for the biggest adventure...zip lining.  There were a lot of instructions, and a lot of gear, but we were happy to know that we would be safe while we were riding.  Tim's mom was sweet and rode the lifts with Luke and Ruby so they could watch some of our rides.

We were all a little nervous about the rides, well at least I was, but it turned out to not be scary at all, just fun.  It was awesome to be up so high and the views were killer.  We had a lot of fun racing each other, but my favorite ride was when Brycen and I decided to just go slow and enjoy the moment.  I think we were all especially grateful for Tim's birthday so we could have such an awesome adventure.

After a long, busy day, we finally met up with Taylor (he had to work, boo), and had dinner at Outback Steakhouse - Tim's favorite.  We ended the day back at home for chocolate cake and ice cream, and a birthday wish for Tim.  It was really a fantastic day, and hopefully Tim felt loved and cherished.
