We had a lot of fun activities and big events during the month of November, but the most significant was Luke's first broken bone. Luke had been at the neighbor's house playing with a group of friends and one of the dads launched him off of an improvised catapult. He landed wrong and immediately was in extreme pain. Drake, his friend, came running over to the house and knocked on the door to let Tim know that Luke was really hurt. After a quick assessment Tim decided that it was serious and would need medical attention. I met the two of them at the instacare where the doctor did an examination and sent him for an x-ray. The official diagnosis was of a buckle fracture - luckily they gave him a brace instead of a full cast. Luke was super brave about the whole thing. We were just grateful that his first broken bone was a minor one.
Luke learned to play checkers and plays as often as possible - I think his puppy is one of his favorite opponents.
Ruby got a new dress and was excited to model.
Luke also looked especially handsome after church.
Oh the memories!
Love both of these girls so much.
Luke class has been writing and reading poetry.
My Aunt Marlene brought her dog Luna to our house so we could puppy sit for an afternoon. Luke and Ruby were in heaven and had so much fun playing in the back yard. Ruby took the job very seriously and put Luna on the leash and ran her around the back yard - making sure to stop for snacks and water. When they needed to rest Ruby would sit in the chair and pet Luna while they "talked". She even took her reading book outside and found that Luna was a very good listener.
Erika spent the month in Nepal hiking part of the Anapurna trail and teaching school in a small village. I am so impressed with her - she is such an adventurous traveler and I love watching and hearing about all of her experiences. So glad she was able to see so much while she was there.
Tim and Brycen's outings seem to always involved food...
Tim coached Luke's basketball team again this year. The season was super short, only 8 games in 4 weeks, but it was awesome to see how much the boys all learned and improved. Tim held weekly practices and the boys really learned how to work together as a team. Unfortunately Luke missed the last few games because of his broken arm, but we all still had fun supporting the team.
The week after the last game Tim had a pizza party to celebrate.
These cowgirls love outings to Wendys.
Luke and Tim spent a cold afternoon at Provo High School's football playoff game.
We love going to the kids' art night at the elementary school.
Ruby's donut is the one that looks like a map of the world.
And of course her cupcakes were piggy cupcakes.
Luke made a "sweet pizza" with donuts and peppermints.
