To be honest, carving pumpkins is really not my favorite fall activity - way too messy - but I do love the process of picking a good pumpkin. Over the past several years pumpkin patches (with lots of activities for kids) have become a big deal and the kids love the process of selecting their very own special pumpkin. We spent a super fun afternoon playing and exploring the farm, and then went home with several pumpkins ready to be carved.
We had big plans to carve all of the pumpkins, but at the last minute, decided to try painting instead and it was the best decision ever. Luke and Ruby are really too young to do any of the carving, but were able to do all of their own painting. They were so excited with how they all looked when we finished. They are already making plans for what they want to pain next year.
We did have to care part of Luke's shark.
