Jackson Hole/Teton National Park - Part II - July, 2019

Friday started with an early morning run through downtown Jackson and the elk preserve.  Running is one of my favorite ways to experience a new area, and this run was especially great.

We spent the rest of the morning at the pool, then got dressed and ready for our next adventure at Spring Creek Lodge.  We had decided to go horseback riding and Luke and Ruby were especially excited about the chance to spend time in the mountains on a real horse.

It took a little bit of time to get everyone saddled, and as we got ready, I started to get a little bit nervous because the horses are just so big.  Everyone else seemed calm and confident though, so I decided to just settle down,  and enjoy the ride.

One we got out on the trail it was tough to think about anything else other than the amazing horses and the beautiful views.  The ride turned out to be even better than I had anticipated.

Our wrangler, Sarah Jane

After the ride, we made a quick lunch, then headed out to explore more of the Jackson Hole area.

We took the obligatory antler picture

Petted a buffalo

Took selfies with a bear

Bought silver coins

And watched a wild west gunfight

Luke especially loved all of the attractions, was thrilled to get some coins and arrowheads.

We found our way back to Liberty Burger for another dinner, then spent another hour or so at the pool, soaking up our last night in Jackson Hole.
