Luke and Ruby love to create, and I love to watch their imaginations run wild. They are constantly coming up with new ideas and it is exciting to see how their projects turn out. Their creativity definitely did not come from me - my best way to "help", is just to stand back and watch and cheer. At the first of the month we went to Home Depot and did their kid's craft. They got to use a hammer and nails, phillips screwdriver, and of course, paint and stickers. It was Valentines perfection and I think they are hooked - looks like this may become a monthly activity.
For the past few months we have been going to the Provo City Library pretty regularly and have been loving not only the books, but the activities. When we looked at the calendar together to see the kid activities, Luke got really excited about "Lego Crew" and asked if we could sign him up to go. We were able to sign up Luke, his buddy Drake, and Ruby, and the kids had a great time constructing their masterpieces. After the activity was over, the library took the creations and put them in one of the display areas for everyone to see. Of course, Luke and Ruby were so proud when we went back to the library and the next week and their creations were on full display.
Luke's was a zombie graveyard.
Ruby's was a creation to warn the "robbers"
We finished the Lego party with drinks and cookies.
Brycen gave Luke a foam dinosaur kit for Christmas which of course, made it one of his favorite gifts. He has been saving it and finally decided the time was right to build. After finishing the construction, Luke has had a great time playing with the dinosaur. He has even broken it apart to build several little baby dinosaurs.
