October Miscellaneous 2017

Oh October, you have been good to us...birthday parties, sunny skies, adventures, and plenty of time with family and friends.  It's going to be tough to top all of the fun that we've had and the memories that have been made.

Cutest cousins, I hope they are always besties

They were reading each other stories...

Getting a decent family photo can be tough but I sure love these people.

Luke was very particular about the shirt he wanted to wear for school pictures.  Good thing he attends afternoon kindergarten since he clearly wakes up looking a little rough.

This month included a lot of playtime with Drake and Brexley

Worn out - poor Luke has struggled to sleep with a lot of nigh terrors, hearing "spooky sounds", and classic nightmares.  I have spent a lot of nights sleeping in his bed and trying to sing him back to sleep.  I am always so relieved to see him sleeping soundly and at peace.

Tim and the kids went on a field trip with Mrs. Fox to McCoards Garden Center.  Last year they went and had so much fun learning about seeds and plants from Mr. Kevin.  So when they heard they got to go again this year, they were super excited.  Luke was especially happy to have a chance to see Mrs. Fox since he tells us all the time how much he misses her.  This trip was a great success - the kids came home with a new plant, a baby pumpkin, and plenty of remnants of playing in the corn box.  It was a great morning to learn more about science, and have a lot of fun with friends.

Tim and Luke worked hard to winterize our garden.

We spent an evening doing Halloween crafts.  The kids decorated their pumpkins, and then we all completed some character kits that the kids picked out at Target several weeks ago.  It is so fun to have Luke and Ruby big enough to be able to do most of the project on their own.  They are both very independent and especially loved the painting part of this project.

A selfie is always a good idea.

Tim and the big boys were able to attend Joshua's missionary farewell and send him off to Canada with our best wishes.  Both Luke and Ruby had fevers and bad coughs and we didn't feel like we could all go and risk spreading our germs.  Tim was so impressed with Joshua and the meeting and what a great young man he is.  We are excited to hear about his adventures in the great Northwest of Canada.

These kids are taking advantage of every last minute of warm weather.

We ordered new couches and ended up with no furniture for about a week after our old ones were taken away.  The kids loved having all of the space to play and Princess Ruby turned it into her very own ballroom.

We loved celebrating Jessica's birthday with her.

I took a morning off work and went with Ruby and Brexley on a field trip for preschool.  We saw the play Captain Louie at the Scera.  To be honest, I thought the play was a little strange, but the girls loved it.  There were a lot of songs, and all of the characters were supposed to be little kids so it was a perfect play for kids.  My favorite part was watching Ruby.  I think this is the first play she has ever been to and she was mesmerized - it was so fun to watch her face and be with her for the experience.

Friday night fun thanks to Miss Nikki.

Man I love this neighborhood crew!
